An all-star band including Eddie Henderson, Donald Harrison Jr., Javon Jackson, Patrice Rushen, Rodney Whitaker, and Lenny White performs Miles Davis’ classic “All Blues” from his iconic 1959 album “Kind of Blue” on May 25, 2023 during a concert celebrating Davis’ acoustic quintets of the 1950s and 60s — part of the 2022-23 Season, broadcast May 26 on Fridays Live.

About the concert:
This first performance of our Miles Davis Celebration week is focused on Davis’ hard bop first quintet of the 1950s with John Coltrane, the iconic 1959 sextet session Kind of Blue, and the exploratory 1960s second quintet with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams.
